TRANSPORT INFORMATION

TRANSPORT is one of the most important issues when having any of Site Safe’s units picked up or delivered.

Each of our units have different transport requirements.

SIZE 1 & 1.5

These units can be loaded onto the back of a Ute or Van by 2 people.

At our depot Site Safe is able to load your ute. The transport costs are then only the price of petrol to Derrimut.

Alternatively, we can arrange a courier delivery for $77.00 each way in the metropolitan area.  (Hirer must provide assistance to unload and load.)

SIZE 2, 3, 4, 5

These units require a 1 to 4 tonne tilt tray truck to be loaded and unloaded correctly without the use of a large forklift.

SIZE 6, 8, 9 , 10

These units require a 4.1 to 8 tonne tilt tray to be loaded and unloaded correctly without the use of a large forklift.

We can load your own truck free of charge at our depot, or we can arrange delivery starting at $165.00 each way. The cost of this transport is determined by the distance travelled. Phone us to confirm transportation costs.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

When organising the delivery of your Site Safe unit, we will need to discuss which truck type is most appropriate for your site. Factors affecting the type of truck include:

· Does it need to be lifted over something to get it into position.

· Are there overhead cables, trees or height restrictions.

· Can the truck back up to the spot you want the unit placed/collected.

· Do you want the door to be opened on a particular side of the truck, so it is positioned correctly on site. This need to be advised at the time of booking, so that it is positioned correctly on the truck.

· Is the access wider that 2.7 metres.

· Surface of the Site. In order to ensure the correct operation of your unit (including the efficient opening & closing of doors), it is best to ensure that your unit sits on a level surface. (Driver will not level the unit.)

TYPES OF TRUCK DELIVERY

Tilt Tray Truck Delivery
Site Safes preferred and most cost effective delivery and pick up truck. . The container is loaded on the truck in the direction requested ensuring the unit will be in the correct position once delivered. The truck must reverse to the delivery or pickup point where the tray of the truck tilts to the ground & slides the unit on or off the tray. Size 1—6 units are on wheels and easily slide off.

Side Loader Truck Delivery
The side loader truck delivers the  size 8 containers by picking it up level from the trucks tray at each end of the unit & lowering it level onto the site directly next to the trucks' tray. This method is ideal for delivery of containers that need to fit into constricted spaces or are packed with a load that can not be tilted. It is important to consider which way the container should be loaded onto the truck as it can only be unloaded from the drivers  side.

Crane Truck Delivery
This delivery method is used to when neither a tilt tray or side loader truck can access the site. Crane truck delivery allows for units  to be delivered over obstructions such as fences. There is a maximum reach depending on the weight of the unit being lifted. This form of delivery or collection needs to be booked 2 days in advance and is the most costly method transport.  The crane truck needs to be used for size 9 and 10 if they can transported with a Tilt Tray.
